If you’re on the West Coast then you know that one of the biggest events of the Winter season is right around the corner – the Mooneyes Xmas Party Show And Drag. The folks at Mooneyes recently posted pdf’s of important documents for the event including: Vendor Booth Application, Show Car Entry Form, and Drag Race Registration. Check out the links for printable versions of these documents if you or anyone you know might be interested in participating in what will definitely be a nice kickoff for the holidays.

For those who do not know, this is an annual show hosted at the Irwindale Speedway in Irwindale, CA. The event is a collective gathering of cars, bikes, vendors, live music, pinup contests, art auctions, and more.

Ladies – Ready Those Curling Irons And That Hairspray

If you know anyone who’s easy on the eyes, with a talent for dropping jaws, or who’s just plain classy, perhaps the pinup contest is something you might consider having them enter. The contest is being coordinated by Mitzi and Co. There’s a deadline and space is limited to first come first serve so don’t hesitate and check out Mitzi and Co.’s homepage or Facebook for more information on registering.

A PSA For Event Participants And Parking

The folks at Mooneyes are internationally renowned for the classic car spectacles they put together each year. With a grand reputation such as theirs comes a pre-organized need for a standard parking procedure.

Mooneyes event coordinators want to stress that “Preregistration does not gaurantee a parking space. Although they do have reserved sections for the car show entries, all parking is based on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive early to secure a parking space. Parking is managed by Irwindale Speedway. Once the parking lot is declared full, the gate will be closed and no vehicles will be permitted into the parking area until an official confirms an open space. Mooneyes does not have any control over the parking situation. We apologize for the trouble and any inconvenience this may cause.”

During the 2012 Xmas Part Show and Drag the event parking lot was filled to capacity by 7:30 a.m. just to give folks a gauge on the right time to arrive.

Show Car And Drag Race Information

The car show is limited to pre ’65 model years. Preregistration is $20.00 and includes 1 car and 2 people. Registration at the gate costs $40.00 and includes 1 car and 2 people as well. Motorcycles are $15.00 for both preregistration and registration at the gate.

The Mooneyes Drag limites models to pre ’69 models. The NHRA Safety Rules apply and all cars must pass an on-site inspection prior to racing during the event.

The registration period for the Xmas Show and Drag started on Sunday September 1st and will run through the deadline on November 23rd. Mooneyes noted that registration could possibly end earlier than the projected deadline based on available spaces. So stop thinking about it and get your car registered!

Ambiance and festivity during the event will be provided by live bands – Gambler’s Mark, Deadbeat Daddy, Hot Rod Trio, and the Dynotones. This is going to be an awesome way to usher in the first weekend of December! We’ll see you there.
